The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) is a standardized exam that measures verbal, quantitative, analytical writing, and integrated reasoning skills. It's designed for applicants interested in graduate management education, such as an MBA (Master of Business Administration).

The GMAT exam is divided into four key sections: Analytical Writing Assessment (AWA), Integrated Reasoning, Quantitative, and Verbal. The AWA and Integrated Reasoning sections are scored separately, while the Quantitative and Verbal sections combine for your total score.

Analytical Writing Assessment (AWA)

In the AWA section, you will have 30 minutes to write one essay based on a presented argument. Your essay will be evaluated on the quality of your reasoning, the coherence of your ideas, and your overall writing proficiency.

Integrated Reasoning Section

This section consists of 12 questions that test your ability to analyze data presented in various formats, including tables and graphs. You will need to evaluate information from multiple sources and draw inferences based on that data.

Quantitative Section

You will answer 31 multiple-choice questions in this section, assessing your knowledge of basic math concepts such as Algebra, Geometry, and Arithmetic. Questions are presented in increasing order of difficulty.

Verbal Section

This section features 36 multiple-choice questions. They test your ability to analyze and evaluate written material, read critically, and identify grammatical errors. Your knowledge of grammar, sentence structure, and reading comprehension will be assessed.

GMAT Scoring Explained

The GMAT exam is scored on a scale of 200 to 800, with 800 being the highest possible score. Your total score is based on your combined performance in the Quantitative and Verbal sections.
